Spring of 2010-Update. Met a great guy on E-Harmony, somewhat more than a year ago. He started right in talking about us opening a school for gifted and talented kids. Took me a year to warm up to the idea, but --Cave Creek Academy opens in August! SEND YOUR GRANDKIDS! We are enrolling NOW for fall. Lots of work, but SOOooo much more fun than retirement--and I can still write, draw, and do the voiceovers. Am considering startup of our own internet TV channel. I love the new technology, even if I do need a patient tutor from the younger set! My classmates at Arcadia will remember me in Spanish Club, Fencing, trampoline, Annual staff, and playing tennis and basketball. At Scottsdale, where I graduated in '64, they won't remember the academic honors but may recall my role as Lady Macbeth in Mr Coates theatre arts class, can't forget the scream that they heard clear out on the football practice field when I lopped off the end of my thumb during the Senior class play. I have passed my own love of Shakespeare and the stage on to my sons. I have the, I believe singular, distinction of being the only mother in America whose teenaged son actually requested that she make an ass of him in front of the entire student body of his high school--He played Bottom in A Midsummer Night's Dream. He stole the show. I made the Ass's head for him, and he could wink and move the mouth and ears. I decided I'd try a new career in Voiceover after 35 years of teaching as a performing art. I can do it at home in the middle of the night if I choose, and pretty much take off whenever I want. It's a highly portable sort of job, too much fun to be called work.
